Sustainable Papakura IS voluntary. Our achievements depend on Volunteers. We are proud to offer volunteering opportunities that provide participants with a meaningful contribution to community life and to the well being of Papatuanuku.

Volunteers gain friendship and work experience while enjoying a feeling of significance and belonging as they engage in purposeful activities they are passionate about.  Volunteers reach deep into the community through their households, neighbourhoods and work places, creating a ripple effect that promotes behavior change and inspires greatness.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways volunteers can help. As well as the projects featured below, we require assistance at the Base with housekeeping and hospitality tasks and with mounting displays. When hosting workshops we would love extra helpers for setting up and cleaning up equipment and for welcoming people and explaining our purpose and activities. We need people to help with fundraising, organizing raffles, and other events. There are also administrative tasks such as funding applications and social media updates, and much more.

Volunteer Support

Sustainable Papakura has a Volunteer Induction and Support programme which will ensure you have all the information and help you need to participate as a volunteer. As a potential Volunteer you will meet initially with our Volunteer Co-ordinator to discuss how you can help, what you enjoy,  how much time you would like to give, what you are hoping to get out of the role. As volunteers we all enjoy our time  at Sustainable Papakura and we want to make sure you do too. From time to time we will provide Orientation Sessions and training in the form of workshops or site visits.
