The Bags That Go Round And Round

This Project started in 2018 as an alternative to plastic bags. The bags were named for us by Nanny Kura Walker. Plastic Bags may have been banished but our re-useable bags continue as a gift to Papakura residents.

By March 2020 we had released 2354 bags, diverting 1.6 tonnes of fabric from landfill with only a bin full of scrap which we continue to use for craft projects.

re-usable, returnable
shopping bags

If you find yourself up the street and in need of a shopping bag you can grab one of these bags from a host store in the Papakura town centre.

You can return the bags to any host store when you've finished with them.

These bags are made by volunteers at Monday Morning Sewing Bees 9.30-12.00 , or on the first Saturday of each month 10.30-2 at The Base, using fabric that would otherwise have gone to landfill.

Just come along, we'll be pleased to see you.
