About Our Repair Cafe
The Repair Cafe is part of a global movement that began with the Repair Cafe International Foundation. This initiative supports local groups worldwide in their mission to reduce waste, preserve repair skills, and strengthen social cohesion. Our local project became a reality after community consultation identified a strong desire among residents for a Repair Cafe in Papakura. We launched our inaugural event on September 6th, 2025, which also marked the beginning of International Repair Festival Week
What we repair
We currently provide the following types of repairs:
- Ceramic and pottery fixes
- Sewing and textile alterations
- Watch and clock repairs
- Bike maintenace and repairs
Please Note: The Repair Cafe is powered by the generous time and expertise of our volunteer repairers. Because we operate on a volunteer basis, repairs are not guaranteed. Furthermore, the specific repair services available at each event are dependent on the unique skills of the volunteers present that day
